Nonprofit agencies are often encouraged to consider aligning, consolidating or merging with another -- but it’s not much seen in philanthropy. Join us to learn more about a recently announced merger of two foundations.

Grant Oliphant, CEO of The Pittsburgh Foundation, and Kirk Utzinger, CEO of Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, will speak to GWP members about the foundations’ new merged structure. They will describe the factors that led to considering merging; how the decision-making process worked; and some of the practical advantages and challenges. The questions they faced could be applicable to foundations of every size and type: join us to learn how and why two grantmaking organizations chose to become one.
