Date: 2/17/2010
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Location: Center City Tower, Seventh Room, 650 Smithfield Street, Suite 550

Please join us as we increase our Understanding the Current Victim Service System in Allegheny County.

As part of our community’s ongoing work to prevent the crimes of domestic and sexual violence, FISA Foundation commissioned a preliminary scan of Allegheny County services related to three key questions:

  1. In what ways can victims of sexual assault or domestic violence get help?
  2. In what ways does our community hold offenders accountable for abuse?
  3. What efforts are we making to prevent/eliminate these crimes in the future?

The study was designed to be purely descriptive, not evaluative. Coro Fellow Lena Andrews collected data from a range of victim service, law enforcement, criminal justice, medical and other professionals as well as from public sources and will share a summary of her findings, followed by discussion about opportunities for strategic investments to strengthen or improve coordination between the numerous systems.

Please bring a brown bag lunch.  Beverages and dessert will be provided.
