Public Policy Committee

Group Type
Committee

Engaging policymakers is a growing priority at GWP. With the leadership of the Public Policy Committee, GWP aspires to be a leading voice to public officials, advocating for a vibrant and growing philanthropic sector in western Pennsylvania and bringing the insights and experience of those in philanthropy to policy development. GWP’s Public Policy Committee meets throughout the year to consider emerging local, state and federal policy issues and develop recommendations for the board of directors. Both government relations issues (such as tax treatment affecting philanthropy and the broader nonprofit sector) and public policy issues like sustainable public-sector funding for public transportation are considered.
